Derby day looms - FPL_Robbo gives his take on FPL GW8 and GW9

Fantasy Premier League
Hello everyone fpl_robbo I’m back for yet another gameweek review and what is to come for the next set of fixtures.
This week is triple trouble in London as we will be talking about Heung Min Son, Arsenal and Fulham.

Super Sonny:

Heung Min-Son came off the bench against Leicester and claimed a 13 minute hat-trick, earning 19 FPL points. Conte’s men remain unbeaten so far this season winning 5 and drawing 2 scoring 18 in those 7 games!

Arsenal gun down the bees:

A dominant display for the gunners saw them run out 3-0 against Brentford. Headers from William Saliba, Gabirel Jesus and a wonder strike from debutant Fabio Viera capped off an overall brilliant performance for Arteta’s men. Bukayo Saka also claimed 2 assists to the delight of his FPL managers.

Fulham into Europe?

On Friday night saw Fulham beat Nottingham Forest in a close encounter as they ran out 3-2 winners. An early goal from Taiwo Awoniyi put the reds ahead until 3 goals in 6 minutes from Adarabioyo, Palhinha and Reed saw Silva’s men comfortably win the game despite a late goal from Lewis O’Brien. Managers keep an eye on Mitro, looks like he picked up a knock with Serbia!

GW9

Wildcards?

As the world cup break edges near this means there is less time to play your first wildcard chip of the season and with the players coming off the back of an international break, players may have picked up injuries whilst they've been away (Mitro), so therefore you could use the wildcard chip to chop and change your squad to start fresh (you have until GW16 to play your wildcard).

Kane vs Jesus?

The 1st north London derby of the season comes in GW9 as Spurs head to the Emirates. Kane clocked some serious minutes for England, whilst Jesus didn't make the Brazil squad. And with both strikers being key players to both clubs so far and some FPL managers having both players in their fantasy are you going to stick with both or take a dive and transfer one of them out for GW9?

Manc Derby

GW9 also sees the 1st instalment of the Manc derby with the Red Devil's heading to Eastlands, Haaland is on excellent form so far in the season scoring 11 goals in Man city’s opening 7 games including 2 hat-tricks and 2 braces. However United’s centre half duo of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have been the rock of United’s defence so far this season and they haven’t lost when those 2 have been starting only conceding 2 goals while United have scored 7 in that time.

As a United fan I do believe going with City players is the best option this GW, but we all know that Man United have pulled out some shock results against City in recent years
  • Man City 2-3 Man United (United 2-0 down 3 goals in 15 minutes)
  • Man United 2-0 Man City (Last game before COVID)
