Who is Ian Wright?

Ian Wright's football career is a remarkable story of late blooming success. Starting in non-league football, he was signed by Crystal Palace at nearly 22, quickly establishing himself as a prolific goalscorer. His partnership with Mark Bright propelled Palace to the top flight, and he became a club legend.  

In 1991, Wright made a record-breaking move to Arsenal, where he continued his goal-scoring exploits. He won the Premier League title, both domestic cups, and the European Cup Winners' Cup. He became Arsenal's record goalscorer at the time, and remains a club legend.  

Beyond Palace and Arsenal, Wright played for West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, Celtic, and Burnley, before retiring in 2000. He also earned 33 caps for England.  

After retiring, Wright transitioned into a successful media career, becoming a popular pundit and television personality. He has hosted numerous shows, appeared in commercials, and become a respected voice in football commentary. His journey from non-league obscurity to football stardom and media success makes him a true icon of the game.
