Who is Darren Anderton?

Darren Anderton was a talented midfielder who played primarily in the Premier League. He began his career at Portsmouth before moving to Tottenham Hotspur, where he spent 12 years and became a key player. He was part of the Spurs team that won the League Cup in 1999. Anderton also played for Birmingham City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and AFC Bournemouth, where he finished his career with a memorable winning goal.  

Internationally, Anderton earned 30 caps for England and represented his country at Euro 96 and the 1998 World Cup. Despite his talent, his career was often hampered by injuries, which led to him being nicknamed "Sicknote." After retiring, he has worked as a pundit.
