The sensational dribbler Denílson was part of Brazil's World Cup winning squad in 2002. Four years earlier he had become the world's most expensive player as he was sold to Real Betis for 21.5 million pounds.

The success was limited in Spain but Denílson did help win Copa Del Rey with Betis in 2005.
